What is the Brazil Vacation Pay Calculator?
CLT employees in Brazil are entitled to 30 calendar days of paid vacation per year after each 12-month anniversary (período aquisitivo). The vacation payment (salário de férias) equals one month's salary, plus a mandatory constitutional bonus of 1/3 of that amount (abono constitucional). The 1/3 bonus is exempt from IRPF but subject to INSS.

When must vacation pay be paid in Brazil?
Vacation pay must be paid at least 2 working days before the start of the vacation. Failure to pay on time entitles the employee to double the vacation amount (férias em dobro).
Can vacation be split in Brazil?
Yes. Since 2017, vacation can be split into up to 3 periods, with at least one period of 14 consecutive days and the others of at least 5 days. The employee must agree. One period cannot start 2 days before a public holiday or rest day.
Is the 1/3 vacation bonus (abono) taxed in Brazil?
The 1/3 constitutional vacation bonus is exempt from IRPF. INSS does not apply to the bonus portion either. Only the base vacation salary (equivalent to monthly salary) is subject to INSS and IRPF.
