What is the Japan Health Insurance Calculator?
Japan's employee health insurance (健康保険) is administered by either Kyokai-Kenpo (協会けんぽ, for most private sector workers) or a company-specific health insurance society (健康保険組合). Premiums are calculated on standard monthly remuneration (標準報酬月額) using prefecture-specific rates. The premium is split 50-50 between employee and employer. Coverage includes 70% reimbursement for medical expenses (30% co-pay).
